JOB SUMMARY:
The Therapist is a licensed professional who provides counseling and critical incident stress management services for new, continuing and crisis patients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides counseling services for new, continuing and crisis patients: for individuals, couples, families and group therapies for adults, adolescents and children. Provides critical incident stress management services. Assesses individuals for counseling and delivery of short-term solution focused counseling for individuals, marital partners, families and groups. Completes all documentation in a timely manner such as: intake assessments/evaluations, psycho-social history, individualized treatment plan, history, progress notes, discharge summary, etc. for each patient in accordance with Navy Policy, Counseling Desk Guides, Fleet and Family Support, Management Information System Guidance, Navy Credentials Review, and Clinical Privileging Quality Assurance Requirements. Maintains regular contact with EAP clinicians, primary care physicians, clinicians, and/or other individuals significant in each patient's case. Documents the contacts made with outside agencies and health care professionals. Performs in-house program transfers and program discharge planning with timely and accurate information. Makes effective use of community resources/referrals. Keeps accurate patient tracking records for each patient case managed including: appointments, phone calls, referrals, treatment plan/revisions, and any other significant information affecting the tracking of the client. Consults clinical supervision on an as-needed basis. Participates in program development as needed. Travel assignment or transfer to other facilities in current geographical area may be required. REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Master's degree in clinically relevant field from an accredited university.
Certification/License:
Mental health professional with licensure to practice as an independent practitioner. LCSW or LMFT required.
Experience:Minimum three years experience post-Master's degree. Must have supervised training providing services to individuals under 18 years old.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Demonstrates professional skills requisite to provide services in a managed care environment. Effective organizational and verbal/written communication skills. Working knowledge of military lifestyle preferred. Knowledgeable of community resources/referrals. Demonstrated appropriate knowledge, training and experience in specialty areas.
