The City of Henderson is currently hiring for a Technical Analyst III in the Fire and Safety Department.OPENING DATE: Monday, September 11, 2006
CLOSING DATE: Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at 5:00 p.m.Job Description:To assist management by performing administrative support work including business planning, budget and fiscal analysis and special projects and studies; and to perform related work as assigned.This position will play a key role in the Department of Building and Fire Safety. Extensive experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint is essential). Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, preparing analytical reports, summaries, manuals, and analyses; identifying existing or potential complex operational problems and developing effective resolutions; and understanding organizational and political implications of research findings.Selection Process:The selection process will consist of an employment application and supplemental questionnaire screening for the minimum qualifications and an oral review board. Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in public administration, business administration, economics, or closely related field
Four (4) years of experience performing administrative support duties for an agency or organization; OR an equivalent combination of closely related education, training, and work experience.Must possess a valid driver’s license from state of residence at the time of appointment and maintain an excellent driving record.
Desired Qualifications:
Provides information and advanced technical support regarding software applications, and peripherals to customers; responds to user inquiries.
Documents I.T. (Information Technology) related problems and interfaces with I.T. project team in resolving application related issues.
Develops and maintains internal support tools including I.T. contacts for network, hardware, software, Internet, and GIS support.
Sets-up and configures first level application training for land management applications such as KIVA.
Acts as internal resource for departments on I.T. projects that may include, but not limited to, standard software suite upgrades, relocation and installation of equipment to new and existing City facilities, and the implementation of new computer and peripheral standards.
Simulates hardware and software problems to test and evaluate solutions; makes recommendations for implementing solutions.
