(Health, Dental, Life Insurance and a Retirement Package)The Developmental Services Department is seeking a highly qualified, dedicated, dependable, motivated and customer-oriented professional to join their plans review team. The position is responsible for reviewing public, commercial, industrial and residential construction plans for safety, structural integrity and compliance with building codes. The individual will also provide information regarding building codes to the public.
Some examples of the essential tasks are:
Reviews plans for compliance with building codes by analyzing structural and architectural plansConducts research, performs calculations and conducts field inspectionsConsults with outside agencies and coordinates activities with personnelProvides assistance to the public by responding to building code inquiries and providing information or directing them to the appropriate departmentReviews building permit applications and issues certificates when appropriateMaintains and records data into the computerONLY ACCEPTING ONLINE APPLICATIONS FROM: SEPTEMBER 17, 2006 - OCTOBER 1, 2006WHAT HAPPENS NEXT:

REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or related field plus over three years experience as a contractor, engineer or architect examining building plans for safety, structural integrity and compliance with building codes or equivalent related training and experience. Registration as a Professional Engineer or Architect and a valid driver's license is required. Certification by the International Code Council (ICC) is preferred. Acquisition of the ICC Certification is required within six months of hire.
