RECREATION PROGRAM SPECIALIST

The Town of Windsor seeks a dynamic and energetic individual to add to our team. Potential candidates should have exp w/youth, teen, adult, and family recreation programs, youth sports and athletics, aquatics, summer day camps, cultural arts, inclusion programming and special events.
The Recreation Program Specialist assists in the coordination of recreation activities involving the planning, organizing, scheduling and implementing recreation programs including but not limited to athletics, teen, youth fitness, trips and special events. Also presents and instructs various programs. The work requires that the employee have good knowledge, skill and ability in a variety of aspects of public recreation programming needs.
We are seeking a versatile, creative and team oriented candidate for a fast-paced multi-service municipal department, with exceptional organizational, supervisory and communication skills.Salary is $30,000 with an excellent benefit package. Position is a 40-hour workweek. Like all recreation positions, this position may require working evenings and weekends.The skills and knowledge required would generally be acquired with a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Management, Therapeutic Recreation or closely related field, and two (2) years related experience, year round or seasonal which preferably includes some administrative and/or supervisory responsibility.
