Proposal Writer/Manager

Proposal Writer/Manager The Proposal Writer/Manager will be responsible for managing proposal activities for quick response Task Orders. This person will direct technical and cost responses, coordinate with appropriate line managers to prepare responses, and manage production staff.

This individual will possess in-depth knowledge of the software systems and tools for preparing responses and must be capable in guiding Company personnel in their use. This includes establishing document and content management policies and procedures.

The individual will maintain databases of information and standard responses on all aspects of the companies focused business areas. This person reports to the Senior Vice-President for Business Development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure that proposals are compelling and focused on the client’s specific needs and requirements.
Work with various managers and Principals to create a compelling proposal.
Ensure that high quality proposals are prepared and delivered in accordance with RFP guidelines. This may include researching customer specific information such as customer web sites and annual reports to customize the proposal documents to reflect those messages or ideas key to the customer.

This is a six months to hire contract position, through Volt Technical Resources - a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, based in Vienna, VA. We are among the largest IT staffing companies in the US for contract/temporary and direct hire placements and support most of the top rated IT companies in the Southeast.


Requirements:



The individual must:
Have a Bachelor’s degree with at least four years experience in proposal development and writing.
Be capable of being an integral part of the business development team and responsible for writing, editing, and coordinating content for winning proposals in the government sector.
Be able to lead team members in the creation of proposals, manage complex proposals against tight deadlines, with a “can do attitude,” have strong attention to detail, and ability to interact with all levels of management.
Have strong writing and editing skills:
Organization;
Proofreading, grammar and syntax, persuasive rhetoric, and audience awareness.
