Police Officer Candidate

As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the public peace, protecting the lives and property of County citizens and visitors, enforcing laws, and investigating suspected criminal activity.
As a Police Officer Candidate you'll receive extensive training at the Police Training Academy. When you graduate, you'll be advanced to Police Officer I and will experience the normal working conditions of a Police Officer. There will be many other opportunities for career advancement ahead of you.

Upon language certification officers may receive
Bi-lingual differential averaging $2,000 to $4000 per year, based on fluency, skills and hours worked.
Bi-lingual skills to include American Sign Language.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum requirements:
•60 College Credits.
•US Citizenship.
•Ability to Effectively communicate in English.
•Not less than 21 years of age at time of graduation
from the Training Academy.
•Valid Drivers License.
•Successful completion of a comprehensive background
investigation conducted by the Police Department.
