The University of Central Arkansas Police Department is seeking applications for a full-time Police Communications Officer. Responsibilities include receiving incoming calls; dispatching officers to calls and criminal incidents; assessing the scope and extent of response necessary; utilizing a variety of criminal justice computer systems including ACIC/NCIC; processing police reports, and performing routine business functions.
High school diploma plus experience as a public safety agency dispatcher is required. Must be able to obtain ACIC certification, work assigned shifts that will occasionally rotate, work overtime as required, and pass a background investigation. Proficiency with computers desired. The Police Department offers an excellent benefits package and work environment. Applicants may also be considered for part time positions.
