Park Ranger

Responsible for direct public contact work with limited supervisory responsibility with an emphasis on serving the public by providing information, direction, and assistance. Protects the public property by interpreting and enforcing rules and regulations and County/City ordinances.
REQUIREMENTS
THREE POSITIONS - POSITIONS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN OCTOBER 1, 2006 PENDING BUDGET APPROVAL - Associates Degree or High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year experience in law or code enforcement, security, ecology, or as an environmental instructor or ranger in a recognized park, recreation or ranger program, cultural institution or accredited school. Experience working as a clerk or secretary is not acceptable. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class "E" driver's license. At the time of appointment, candidates must qualify for deputization as Special Patrolman by the Lake County Sheriff's Department. Such individual must be of good moral character, have a US citizenship, be at least 21 years of age, and have no record of conviction for any felony or for any serious offense against public safety as defined in the State of Florida Penal Law.
