CITY OF OPA-LOCKA EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Police Detective Domestic Violence Unit (DVU) Salary: $36,250 (Grant Funded) The City of Opa-locka is seeking an individual who will work as a Detective in the Domestic Violence Unit. The Domestic Violence Unit is grant funded by an annual grant from the STOP Violence Against Women Grant. The detective will investigate those crimes against statutorily defined family members per FSS 741.28. The individual will work day and afternoon shifts as assigned; provide investigative support to uniform patrol officers and assume investigative responsibility for cases specific to the mission of the Domestic Violence Unit. High School Diploma or GED and completion of (60) credit hours of course work from an accredited college or university; current State of Florida Police Officer Certification or the ability to become certified within (18) months from the date of hire, a minimum of (5) years of law enforcement experience. Previous investigative experience desired but not mandatory.
