MANNING POSITION NUMBER(S)DESCRIPTION : Receives, stores, inspects, , transports, accounts for, and maintains U.S. Navy (USN) Ordnance/Weapons, Armament/Weapons Support Equipment (AWSE), Material Handling Equipment (MHE), and supporting resources to support intransient Patrol Squadron aircraft. As an integral part of the Munitions Dept, also performs all assigned actions in support of USAF Munitions. Supervises Asian/LN Munitions Workforce. Responsible for quality assurance and established processes as part of the ISO 9002 Program.
REQUIREMENTS
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Consistently observe and enforce all USN, USAF and host nation explosives safety, AFOSH, and security standards during all explosives and non-explosives operations .
•In the event of an emergency, take necessary control and timely response actions.
•Conduct all ordnance work according to established quality processes, identifying potential problems and recommending problem solving solutions.
•Supervise Asian/LN Munitions Workforce, providing clear instructions about the work.
•Recondition, repair, and replace defective or missing parts of ordnance and containers.
•Perform ordnance storage actions according to stringent explosives standards.
•Achieve and maintain all ordnance qualification and certification training requirements.
•Work closely with the Munitions Dept Superintendent to resolve any serviceability and accountability issues noted during all ordnance operations.
•Tow weapons and ready service ordnance to and from flightline
•Prepare and configure alert ordnance loads IAW with applicable directives.
•Upload/download carrier with incoming and outgoing munitions shipments.
•Perform all applicable weapons load inspections IAW and applicable technical orders
•Maintain the USN technical data and publications library according to standards.
•Use designated USN accountability ordnance system to account for all ordnance.
•Inspect, operate and performs operator maintenance on light vehicles and handling equipment such as, forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual hoists.•Inspect and operate metal strapping equipment, stencil machines, heat sealers, pneumatic paint guns, air compressors and power tools.•Inspect, and perform minor maintenance on facilities and installed equipment. Clean vehicles, equipment and facilities.•Prepare and deliver general and explosives safety briefings.•Perform other duties assigned by the Munitions Superintendent or senior supervisor.
•Work necessary hours, to include stand-by duties, to support mission requirements during peacetime and combat contingencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of formalized USN Ordnance Training, with minimum of four years experience with Harpoon, AGM-65, torpedoes, and countermeasure ordnance; combined experience on USN storage, towing, maintenance and inspection procedures for Ordnance, AWSE and MHE. U.S. citizen, valid SECRET security clearance. Knowledgeable of the USN technical and publications systems Computer literate. Normal color perception and depth of vision. Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting 50 lbs and perform extensive work using handling/lifting equipment. A valid US driver's license.
