SECURITY CLEARANCE/LEVEL REQUIRED: TS/SCIPRIMARY FUNCTION(S)Provide open source analysis support to the U.S. Special Operations Command Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF). The IATF includes a state-of-the-art data mining facility with the responsibility to conduct knowledge discovery operations through information gathering, coordination, fusion, and analysis of data from all sources, using leading edge information technology. The primary mission is to extract knowledge from information and provide actionable support in accordance with the Command missions.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Duties include (but are not limited to):1. Conduct in-depth, research projects of open/all source information of all types and formats to include, but not limited to: books, journals, commercial subscription databases, World Wide Web, reports, and conference proceedings.2. Conduct research and data mining of classified, electronic data repositories to extract knowledge from information using a variety of search engines, nodal analysis applications, and relational database management systems (e.g. Google, Alta Vista, Retrieval Ware, Copernic Pro, Thing Finder, Analyst Notebook, iBase, Oracle, MS Access, and other COTS applications)3. Provide written analysis and end products to support specific mission requirements.4. Provide library management functions, as required.5. Perform “data scraping” from internet web sites to support knowledge management and archiving of frangible information.6. Develop the requisite documentation to support the file management system.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Degree Requirements: Bachelors
Relevant Experience (amount and type):1. Possess an undergraduate and/or graduate degree in library science research and analysis.2. Possess strong critical thinking/analytical skills.3. Strong computer skills with extensive experience in conducting searches using the internet, reference sources, commercial subscription databases, printed indexes and library catalogs.4. Ability to locate grey literature using traditional library research methods and bibliographic utilities5 Ability to formulate complex queries using standard Boolean operators and execute queries in commonly used commercial and Government subscription database (e.g. Dialog, Lexis-Nexis, Firstsearch, ProQuest, OSIS, Janes, Ebsco, etc…).Security Clearance: TOP SECRET/SCI Must be a US citizen.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Foreign language research capability is highly desirable. A Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) Level 2L/2R in French or Spanish is highly desirable.
2. Prefer library science trained candidates with extensive research and reference experience.WORKING LOCATIONS & ADDITIONAL INFO
