Military Language Intructor - Korean - (TS2-06-0147)

Position Summary: The selected candidate will conduct classroom, laboratory and specialized Korean foreign language instruction, teach grammar, vocabulary and military-related skills to military students during extremely demanding long term initial acquisition training at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA. Selectee would be responsible for preparing class materials, evaluating student strengths and weaknesses and advising leadership of their potential as a linguist. Additional responsibilities would be counseling and mentoring students on both academic and disciplinary issues.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Applicants should be familiar with and effectively utilize latest classroom technology (SMARTboards, etc); must be fluent in Korean (DLPT 3/3/2+); must be retired military (not more than five years) or military reserve as position requires wearing military uniform; must conform to military service standards for grooming and weight control.

Education and Experience: Required: AA Degree; minimum of five years experience using Korean language in a military specialty (i.e., 97E, 98G, IN3, CTI, etc).

Must be legally qualified to work in the United States and be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
