Job #1226 - Part Time Specialist II - Contract Monitor

The Juvenile Justice Services Division (JJSD) of the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) seeks a talented individual in the capacity of part-time Contract Monitor for up to 20 hours per week. The JJSD Treatment Unit is responsible for the efficient and professional oversight of a network of service providers who provide services to youth and families involved with the juvenile courts and probation departments throughout Arizona. This Specialist position interacts with a wide variety of contracted providers, court, probation and community representatives. The ideal candidate will display knowledge of child welfare, behavioral health services, court and probation systems, and IS willing to use that knowledge to improve the scope, quantity and quality of oversight/monitoring of the contracted provider network.This is a specialist position in the Juvenile Justice Services Division. This position assists the Supervisor of Contract Monitoring with ensuring the health, safety and welfare of youth receiving services through the AOC by the monitoring of contracted providers. This position is responsible for arranging monitoring reviews, reviewing utilization reports, conducting monitoring visits, writing reports, and assisting with special performance reviews. Typical functions of this position include assisting in developing the monitoring schedule; contacting providers for initial and follow-up monitoring visits; conducting provider monitoring visits and preparing reports according to JJSD timeframes; completing peer review activities as needed; developing communication and reports in response to monitoring visits; identifying training needs and opportunities within the provider network; conducting investigations of contract agencies; interacting with other licensing organizations; and attending committee , taskforce, workgroup and other related meetings.

REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Counseling, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Judicial Administration or a related field and have at least 3 years of active experience in the field of probation, child welfare or behavioral health. A Master’s degree is preferred, but not required. Years of experience may substitute for a Masters Degree. Licensure by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners preferred, but not required. Knowledge of Title 19 behavioral health service system helpful.SELECTION PROCESS:Positions may take 4-6 weeks to fill. Only applicants whose education, training and experience most closely meets the needs of the position may be invited to interview. The Selection Process may include testing of basic computer skills and/or a writing test, and first and second round panel interviews. Position is not covered by the State Merit System. Finalists must undergo a background check. Requests for a special accommodation to participate in the interview process should be made at the time you are contacted to schedule an interview. This is a part time position up to 20 hours per week. This position is not eligible for benefits. This position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
