Job Description:
•Responsible for supporting Information System Security operations at National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency primary and satellite offices.
•Oversee and report compliance with security plans on all NGA’s information stores, systems and networks.
•Maintain, operate, manage, and propose changes to the NGA Information System Security Program to include process, technical, administrative, configuration management, property (hardware and software) accountability, and total life-cycle support including, at a minimum, the following activities:
• Perform system, server, and workstations audits; archive the audits on CD/DVD.
• Perform blacklight check on monitors to be excessed in order to check for burned in characters or classified data.
• Create data CD/DVD for user support.
• Conduct NT Tools User Training and Information Security Training to business unit representatives and system administrators.
• Perform all requests for inter-network data and media transfers as requested.
• Perform site and user inspections for compliance with security policies.
• Review and coordinate Infrastructure Service Requests (ISRs).
• Assist in writing, review, and coordination of System Security Accreditation Agreements (SSAA).
• Coordinate approvals for laptop SSAA and Personal Information Technology Device User Statement (e.g., for Palm Pilots).
• Eradicate malicious codes and viruses on desktops and laptops.
• Identify and support new information systems for ISS/NGA review.
• Review and approve or deny removable media requests.
• Manage Requirements Management System (RMS) user accounts.
• Monitor, identify and report security violations.
• Review and approve or deny the entry/exit of AIS equipment.
• Review and approve or deny transfer of AIS equipment to other agencies or for disposal.
•Review, make recommendations, and approve or deny Engineering Orders (EO) for security and IA related issues.
• Update and review Site Security Plans (SSPs).
• Coordinate and resolve IA-related trouble tickets.
• Develop, maintain, update, and conduct IA briefings at all sites that include, but are not limited to, Entrance on Duty (EOD), and Security Awareness Programs.
• Work agency certification and accreditation documentation and oversight.
•Develop, conduct, maintain, and revise the Information System Security Representative (ISSR) training, System Administrator (SA) training and NGA Executive Briefing (CDRL B001).
•(Currently, NGA ISSR training is three (3) days long, SA training is one (1) day long, and the Executive Briefing is four (4) hours long). ISSR training shall be conducted at least once a month with every other month having two classes taught (for a total of 18 courses per year), SA training shall be conducted twice a month, and the Executive Briefing shall be conducted once a month. Courses shall be conducted at both East and West NGA sites.
•Review and archive weekly audit logs– AIS (Automated Information Systems) per DCID 6/3 requirements.
•Report anolomies to NGA CIAB.
•Facilitate development and review of Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages for NGA Designated Accrediting Authority (DAA) and NGA Chief Information Officer (CIO) as required under DCID 6/3.
•Maintain, operate, manage, and propose changes to automated ISS policy enforcement systems.
•Some travel and on-call support is required.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
•BS degree or equivalent work experience and minimum of 5 years related experience.
•Basic knowledge of computer systems and networks.
•Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Prefer Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP); Information System Security Management Officer (ISSMO) or Information System Security Officer (ISSO).
Experience:
•Information Assurance experience.
•This position requires a Top Secret/SCI government security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
