Director of Product Management - Government

Leading edge proprietary Nanotechnology component manufacturer seeks experienced Product Management Director. This is a P&L position for the Government business segment. The successful candidate needs to be an industry expert capable of learning the product line and capable of successfully driving sales.

Compensation is open and depends upon experience
REQUIREMENTS
Position Requirements:

In addition to having exceptional interpersonal skills and a useful base of existing contacts in the Government/Military prime and subcontractor community, the well qualified candidates capabilities and background would also include:

Experience in product management, market analysis, and strategic planning
Applicable experience in or with a broad range of Government/Military program offices including AFRL, NRL, DARPA, ARL, DoD as well as contracting organizations such as Raytheon, DRS, et al.
Familiarity with Government & Military procurement practices including grant programs such as SBIR, STTR, etc.
Track record of working effectively with geographically distributed customers (Purchasing, Engineering, Executive Management, et al located in multiple locations)
Demonstrable experience in growing business for an optical component product line across a range of applications
Knowledge of competitors in the marketplace and ability to assimilate this knowledge into a cohesive strategy
Working knowledge of the technology and ability to effectively work with and influence technical teams in defining product roadmaps, feature sets, specifications, etc.
Experience in working with multicultural teams
A knowledge of Government/Military programs, system development practices and technology applications from end to end. Knowledge of sensors, imaging and target acquisition methodologies is particularly useful.
Versed in defining value propositions and pricing
Application subject matter expert coupled with an understanding of the regulatory environment within which our customers and their customers operate
Prior track record in driving a P&L bottom line while not necessarily directly controlling all of the inputs to the process
Known by people within standards setting organizations and key industry associations
Builds relationships with customers and technical teams based on mutual respect
Available to travel throughout the United States
