Director of Health Initiatives Programs (HIP)

The Georgia Dept of Community Health is seeking the fill the position of Director, Health Initiatives Program.

Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinates with community partners to interpret the strategies and achieve the goals of the Health Initiatives Programs (HIP). Provides on-going monitoring and evaluation of HIP to ensure that program objectives are met. Coordinates with division staff to determine the direction of all public health programs. Promotes awareness of services and provides education to the public, other health providers, and those involved in the public health decision-making process. Maintains effective liaisons with community health organizations to maximize the timely and efficient implementation of agency objectives. Develops strategies and recommendations and communicates programs that focus on improving the health outcomes of the affected populations. Serves as the liaison between all HIP advisory boards and the Commission on Men’s Health. Facilitates and coordinates deliverables required in grants, legislation and by the Office of the Chief Operating Officer and Commissioner. Monitors state and Federal policy and legislation that may affect the areas within the affected Health Initiatives Program. Oversees the development and implementation of key initiatives including signature programs designed to improve outcomes in affected populations. Recommends policy changes that will further the goals of the program. Performs community assessments and develops policies and plans based on data collection, activity reports, planning documents, program plans and objectives. Develops and administers budgets. Seeks grant funding help support HIP programs and prepares proposals for the agency.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Training & Experience:
Completion of a Bachelor's degree in a health care, management, behavioral or physical science field;
AND
Seven years of professional experience in the delivery of health services. Two of the seven years must be as the manager of health programs including supervising health professionals, developing and modifying staffing patterns, planning and evaluating service delivery programs, and administering a program budget.
