Correctional Deputies

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Has Openings In The Following Departments:

Correctional Deputies
Responsible for first line care and custody of inmates housed in the Correctional Center. Must possess either High School Diploma or GED, Must be capable of completing Corrections Certification. Training will be provided by LPSO/LPCC.
Salary: $2169.53 a month plus benefits.

Jail Clerks
Enters data using data base software; assists public; answers telephones; inventories and secures inmate property; receives money; schedules visitation of inmates family; must be able to function under pressure; able to multi-task.
Salary: $1837.93 a month plus benefits.

Mental Health/ Alcohol/ Drug Treatment Provider
Master’s Degree with Major course work in Psychology, Social Work, or Public Health from an accredited College or University. Must be licensed with (2) two years of employment.
Salary: $32,000 a year plus benefits.

Part-Time/ Full-Time LPN
Will medically screen inmates; draw blood; administer prescribed medications; respond to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocol and other duties assigned by supervisor.
Part-time salary is $15.61/hr (no benefits) – Full-time Salary $2251.44 a month plus benefits.

Recreational Therapist
Will provide supervision and direction of the daily activities of inmates while in the recreation area under the direction of a LPCC supervisor. Must possess a High School Diploma with some secondary educational experiences in the field of recreation.
Salary: $2169.53 a month plus benefits.

Full Time Work Release Drivers
To serve as primary source of transportation for inmates that are participating in the Sheriff's Office Work release program. Salary $1768.00/Month plus Benefits.


Part-Time Positions
Clerk – Video Visitation - $6.25/HR
