Computer Systems Analyst / Project Lead (Web)
BCA is seeking a candidate to participate in analysis, design, and usability testing of Web applications and static pages for the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. Responsibilities: Help educate customers about benefits and value of user-centered design. Assess usability needs for projects based on customer needs, budget, and priorities. Perform usability tasks in collaboration with project team, customer, and users. Integrate user-centered design tasks into the overall development process. Handle multiple projects and prioritize work across projects. Participate in setting standards and templates for usability tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills:
· Technical (required): Conduct user research and testing, summarize results, and make recommendations. Design clean, consistent Web page interfaces. Evaluate Web interface designs for usability. Create IA documentation (site architectures, process flows, wireframes, etc.) Assess the intended audience and understand their needs.
· Supporting skills: Understand the issues with structuring and communicating information on the Web. Analyze technical and scientific information and translate it for the intended audience. Consider all aspects of the user experience, including navigation, messages, and tips. Experience with remote usability testing tools
· Professional (required): Communicate effectively with all levels of the contract and customer organizations. Use a standard development process. Work independently and as part of a team. Excellent written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to ask appropriate questions and communicate effectively to a broad range of people, including CDC customers, users, and internal technical staff.
· Supporting skills: Analyze, track, and resolve issues using negotiation skills as needed. Learn and integrate new technologies and work processes. Communicating information clearly, concisely, and effectively with all levels of the contract and customer organizations.
Additional Desired Skills/Pluses:
· Domain (preferred): Create prototypes and help pages with DreamWeaver, using cascading style sheets and HTML code as needed. Understand and implement Section 508 accessibility requirements. Be familiar with surveillance and information management applications. Degree in user-centered design or human-computer interaction Four years experience in creating usable Web sites (preferably Web applications) Four years experience working as part of a project team · Candidates will need to present examples of work products and deliverables.
Educational Requirements: · BS/BA required, MS/MA required, [Major: Human Computer Interaction degree] · 5 years of experience in lieu of degree
