We’re currently seeking an innovative Buyer to join our unique team as we continue our history of excellence.The Buyer will be responsible for purchasing electronic and mechanical parts, materials, equipment, tools and services from an approved purchase requisition. This individual will contact vendors for information/bids, establish new and alternative supply sources and negotiate purchase prices. This position will also coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality Control to plan the purchase of materials and inform others of product availability and expected delivery date.A qualified candidate will have at least 10 years related experience and/ or training with a Bachelor's degree desired. A minimum of five years experience with low cost chassis and / or electronic sub-assemblies is required. Must have experience with purchasing electronics parts and with the out-source of both consignment and full turnkey production, utilizing government FAR regulations. Familiarity with San Diego and Southern California suppliers highly desired. This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to effectively negotiate. The Buyer will be responsible for exercising judgment and maintaining a strong working knowledge of materials and sources of supply. This position requires intermediate MS Office skills. Must be able effectively manage a heavy workload.Linkabit is conveniently located in San Diego, CA.
