Full Job Title: Advanced Computing Technologist, Level 3 - Adaptive Systems Skills Management Title Advanced ComputingJob Level: EXEMPTBusiness Component: Phantom Works (PW)Job Description: The Adaptive Systems Group of Boeing Phantom Works Mathematics and Computing Technology invites applications for the position of Advanced Computing Technologist. The work location of the position is Annapolis, MD, reporting to the Adaptive Systems group of the Mathematics and Computing Technology (M&CT) organization headquartered in Bellevue, WA. We are interested in entry-level applicants with research interests in intelligent reasoning (Graphical probabilistic modeling), adaptive and autonomous systems (learning algorithms), and large scale data analysis (data mining) methods. Emphasis will be placed on the development of intelligent decision aids in areas such as aircraft diagnosis, information retrieval, situational awareness and data fusion. The successful applicant will be expected to perform individual analysis and participate in multiple technical projects as required, effectively work with colleagues of diverse technical backgrounds. Will also be expected to work with Boeing business unit and external government customers to understand their processes and needs and transition technology into their environment, keep abreast of new technical advances, develop new intellectual property, and build and maintain a network of contacts and collaborators both inside and outside the company. In addition, the position requires active effort to create and pursue new business opportunities. The successful applicant will develop and cultivate business relationships with government customers in the greater Washington DC area, serve as a primary point of contact for M&CT with those customers, and participate in developing proposals for new business. US citizenship and willingness to obtain advanced security clearance if necessary is required. Competencies The successful candidate will have a strong record of research excellence and a demonstrated history of peer-reviewed publications. The candidate should be self-motivated, and capable of working in a diverse teaming environment, that requires a high level of creativity, the ability to guide/train others and a strong verbal and written ability to communicate technical matters to both technical and non-technical personnel. Experience in software development and inter-disciplinary research is required. Specific language skills in one or more of C, C++, JAVA, or Python would be a plus.Notes: The Adaptive Systems Group ¿ a leader in advanced applied research.
