Yardmaster

Yardmaster- Chicago, Illinois 50240721The Yardmaster reports to the Assistant Superintendent and his staff. Has direct control of yard switching crew, in the make-up of trains. Must interface with other departments to ensure safe, timely and efficient switching and train movements. Must complete associated documentation of these functions.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:Candidates must have 5 years of work experience. Knowledge of railroad yard operations and train make-up procedures is preferred. The Yardmaster directly supervises yard-switching crews, road crews within the yard and relay crews. Also, station operations and yard clerks within their tour of duty.
