Sr. Industrial Engineer

The Senior Industrial Engineer is responsible for managing the PowerMax Industrial Engineers to improve efficiencies in each retail distribution center. This position is responsible for labor measurement data, capital equipment justifications, and acquisition of material handling equipment throughout the PowerMax network. The position reports directly to the Vice President for Transportation & Store Fulfillment, with dotted line responsibility to the PowerMax Directors.
Position ResponsibilitiesReview and compare facility metrics (thru-put, cost, cycle time, etc.) for each distribution center and identify opportunities. Assure the data integrity of each metric reported. Facilitate the sharing of improvement opportunities in the PowerMax network regarding safety, productivity, cost savings, quality, etc. Provide direction to Industrial Engineers to develop and maintain consistent and accurate staffing models (facility, area, job function) Manage the direction of the SAP Labor Management system across the PowerMax network. Assure consistency is maintained throughout the network in the classification and reporting of labor hours. Work with PowerMax on-site management and the IT department to identify and document improvements to current Warehouse Management System and Labor Management Software. Design and roll-out studies to evaluate new capital equipment (RF guns, voice technology, etc.) and verify and track the return on investment for each capital project. Develop documents and maintains operational standard practices. The above represents general responsibilities for the position. REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field Retail Distribution experience required, preferably at multiple locations. Ability to manage technical staff and managers across multiple facilities Experience in managing large-scale projects through the direction of others Warehouse Management Systems expertise, with computer skills, working knowledge of SAP, and fluent knowledge of AutoCAD Lean background preferred Working knowledge of conveyors and conveyor systems, racking/storage methods, and Material Handling Equipment Advanced mathematical and analytical skills required Must be self-motivated with progressive problem solving skills, and a positive outlook Provide support to corporate staff as needed Proven written and oral communication skills at all levels of the organization Provide return on investment calculations for both small and large scale projects Develop and/or analyze financial budgets Position requires flexibility to work in day, mid and evening shifts MOST certification or other work measurement system helpful PC and basic network, Windows XP, hardware and software troubleshooting skills required. Frequent travel required
