Sr. Business Analyst
Provide direction and act as functional lead for high priority Market Analysis and Settlement assignments and projects. Provide business operation and market knowledge to ensure efficient design, development and implementation of business processes and software Lead work and projects through all necessary stages of a Business Solution Delivery from project planning, software design & testing, business process design & development and training through final implementation Define, direct, test and accept consultant and vendor work product Represent and present matters to various stakeholders and Corporate Management that potentially affect project definition, development or business direction Provide business support for Legal, Market Support Services, Information Technology and other departments within the Company Participate in discussions with stakeholders during formation of Market Rules and Manuals that may affect the business resolution
Qualifications:· 8+ years' utility industry experience with demonstrated analytical capability and excellent written and oral communication skills Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Business is required, an MBA is preferred Three to five years designing, developing, testing and implementing software solutions and business processes Strong project management and facilitation skills Understanding of the electricity markets and the role of the various market products in the wholesale marketplace Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Oracle Discoverer or other database querying tools
Desirable qualities include:
· Proficiency in Visual Basic for Applications High-level understanding of bulk power system operations Customer service experience
Company Brief:Located in the northeast United States, this Independent System Operator (ISO) is responsible for day-to-day operation of the region's bulk generation and transmission systems; and in addition to operating the bulk power grid, works closely with its stakeholders and FERC to administer the region's wholesale electricity marketplace and the Open Access Transmission Tariff.
