Production Manager
The Production Manager will ensure that the plant operates in a manner that produces a quality product that matches our customers’ needs and maintains our profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Set goals and objectives for downstream production associates. Manage downstream process to ensure that all production systems are operating at optimum levels and efficiencies. Identify bottle necks and recommend capital spending programs that improve the plant’s capacity and profitability. Develop production plans and implement accordingly. Establish goals and operating objectives for production management personnel, conducting at least annually an evaluation of their performances as outlined in company guidelines, review salary levels and recommend appropriate action.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical study preferred
Minimum of 10 years plant experience, with an emphasis in operations management
Practical knowledge of yarn manufacturing equipment and operations
Demonstrated organization and delegation ability
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Skills:
Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Motivating, developing and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Ease of use with standard office software, including PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
The ideal candidate will also need knowledge of:
Raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods and coordination of people and resources.
Machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
Principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups and the measurement of training effects.
Principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for service and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

2000, expanded Phoenix recycled to 35 colors, 2001, Universal broadened production of low weight
carpet yarns and introduced patented solution-dyed nylon polyester blend fiber. 2002, Universal expanded Phoenix recycled to 55 colors. 2003, Universal Color grows beyond 218 shades to 237 core colors across all polymers. Phoenix recycled products offering 56 total core colors and maintaining our position as the leading manufacturer of recycled content carpet yarn.
2003, Universal also introduced patented solution-dyed accent yarn Revolve® and became SCS Certified on Phoenix Recycled. 2004, Universal introduced a very unique metallic accent yarn Reflection™ and expanded process capabilities for BCF ready-to-tuft and drawn yarns.
