Production / Kitting (Dell Computers)

Responsible for recognizing, identifying, loading and/or installing system parts to ensure quality throughout the kitting and boxing line and to ensure systems meet predetermined customer specifications.
• Recognize, identify and load parts and chassis for the system into the tote.
• Identify the availability of components for the computer.
• Recognize, identify, and install processors, memory and heatsinks into the computer, chassis, or tote if required.
• Transfer the motherboard, COA label and traveler to the parts tote.
• Exchange wrong part, get missing part or return extra part to kitting line.
• Scan track code on box to determine if system is a custom configuration and label appropriately.
• Recognize identify and check system to ensure all documentation and accessories are in system box.
• Inspecting system for cosmetic damage and applying/verifying labels.
• Scan system barcode to initiate scan point one, de-stack systems and plug system in for burn.
• Plug in system for software download and burn.
• Remove the completed systems out of burn to the boxing line by using the multi-lift (if required).

• Receives detailed instructions on work tasks.
• Pick parts manually from the PTL line.
• Install all parts according to designated online instructions.
• Follow ESD guidelines.
• Works under direct supervision
REQUIREMENTS
• Requires accessing computers and watching PTL (pick the light) to identify part numbers.
• Must possess ability to read and interpret online work instructions and additional written communication.
• Ability to identify parts and handle them appropriately.
• Must possess necessary computer skills to efficiently utilize manufacturing software systems.
• Attention to detail is a necessary requirement.
• Experience in build assembly, material handling, and forklift operation are a plus.
