Production Assembler and Customer Service

Purpose of Position: This position performs electro/mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies and finished equipment used for high level disinfection and drying of non-critical medical devices and other products as needed. This position performs technical support to customers and works closely with Sales to achieve customer satisfaction. Additionally, as the company develops new products, this position may be called upon to support the product development group by building and testing prototypes assemblies.Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Assembles and tests sub-assemblies and finished product for shipment to customers utilizing drawings, oral and written instructions using a variety of hand tools or production equipment.
Provides technical support to customers directly and by working with Engineering and Quality Assurance in trouble shooting service calls. Completes reports to document customer service activities.
Adheres to Quality Assurance procedures that meet FDA requirements as well as ISO practices. Provide support for QA functional testing of finished products.
May be asked to examine parts for adherence to product specifications.Participates in engineering and product development meetings and projects as required. Other projects may be assigned.
Participates in physical inventories as requested.
Drives a forklift as needed.

Requirements:

Core Competencies needed for Position:The Production Assembly and Customer Support Technician must have mechanical, basic electrical, machine operation and hand tool skills. The Technician must have superior oral communication skills and a desire to resolve customer problems. Experience must include 3 years in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of welding, plumbing, and electronic technology and basic Windows Office Word and Excel a definite plus. FDA and ISO certified manufacturing experience a plus. The ability to interface and communicate in a professional manner among cross-functional groups is required. Understanding of drawings, electronics and basic mechanical inspection required. The Technician must be physically fit. Lifting required up to 40 lbs.
