We are expanding our team of building and construction generalists for a program in Reston. A specialty in HVAC, electrical systems, drywall, etc is a plus, but everyone on the team is crossed-trained in multiple trades. In addition to exceptional cross-training, these shift positions work only 3 or 4 days at a time, 14 days out of every 28, and once a month have 7 days off in a row. In addition to your salary, these positions earn 20% more in shift premiums, have full Lockheed Martin benefits, and an on-site fitness center, cafeteria, and covered parking.

SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION:

Modification Team member. Is responsible to the Modification team lead and the Facility Operations (FO) manager for the modification of buildings systems and structure at NIMA Reston. May act as point of contact for Fairfax County electrical, mechanical, plumbing and building inspections.

Modifications include construction and demolition of interior walls, HVAC systems, utility and UPS power, lighting, plumbing, carpet, suspended ceiling, trim, access flooring systems, modular furniture and wall finishes. The successful candidate will show progress towards a valid Virginia Journeyman's license in at least one construction trade or the equivalent. Familiarity with Fairfax County commercial building permits, inspection procedure and all applicable codes is desirable. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work from a ladder. As a member of a team, performs all levels of preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance on building equipment and systems when directed. Work schedule is to be determined.

Minimum Qualifications:

*Demonstrated initiative and proactivity
*Ability to work well with others
*Documented progress towards a Virginia Journeyman's license in one or more building trades (Electrical, plumbing, HVAC) or equivalent.
Equivalent skill and experience in a trade for which there is no license (i.e. carpentry or masonry) is acceptable.
*2 years commercial construction experience
* Building trade experience

Desirable Qualifications:
*NRFSP experience
*Professional trade license

EDUCATION REQUIRED: Specialized training in specific aspects of job functions and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks, and 1 year of experience.

STANDARD JOB DESCRIPTION:
Repairs, constructs, installs, troubleshoots, and maintains routine electrical systems and equipment. Cuts, threads, bends, couples, and straps conduit. Cuts wire and conduit to length. Installs, repairs, or replaces switch boxes, light bulbs, plugs, sockets, light fuses, and extension cords. Disassembles motors, generators, and other equipment in preparation for repair.

Troubleshoots electrical malfunctions, inspects circuits and wiring for shielding and grounding, and tests electrical equipment for safety and efficiency. Uses blueprints, drawings, layout, or other specifications, and electrical hand tools and voltage-or-amperage measuring and recording devices.
