As a Group Leader in our Global Technology group, you will be responsible for:

Leading a high performance team developing products in our Gelcoats Group.
Interfacing with technical, marketing, sales and manufacturing functions.
Providing creative and insightful solutions to customer application issues.
Making presentations to customers and at industry symposia.
Successfully lead the strategic plans and execution of platform research and product development, including scale-up and commercialization.

To qualify you will need the following:

PHD in polymer chemistry, organic chemistry or inorganic chemistry
3+ years minimum experience in research and product development
Supervisory experience in R&D or product development with strong leadership and employee development skills is preferred
Experience in polyester, vinyl ester and coatings chemistry is preferred
Knowledge of styrenated composites gel coats, acrylic coating resins, colorant chemistry, and Design for Six Sigma are advantageous
Leading candidates will have demonstrated success in driving innovation, including development, scale-up, and commercialization of new technologies and products
Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with commercial and technical colleagues is required
Demonstrated application of Six Sigma methodology and tools is preferred
Position requires 20-30% travel to Europe, China and other areas of the world if needed
