We currently have a career opportunity in our US Service Division (Hoerbiger Service Inc.) for a highly motivated Engineer to join our engineering department in the Oklahoma City area. Under general supervision, the successful candidate performs all conventional aspects of mechanical engineering within the compressor industry. The selected candidate interfaces directly with customers and supports both sales and engineering at the field level, performing those functions and duties assigned by Regional Management in accordance with corporate objectives, policies and controls. She or he will be responsible for assigned projects and must be able to work with both within a core group and on an individual basis. The ideal candidate possesses a good working knowledge in materials, mechanical engineering, failure analysis, project management and has a good understanding of compressors and engines.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:•Assist and support Sales staff in all aspects of engineering in the compressor industry
•Provide on-site engine and compressor problem solving for customers relative to supporting or securing the sale of Hoerbiger products and services.
•Assist Sales personnel as well as customers in gathering appropriate operating information, component dimensions and configurations•Consult and assist where required to support Sales, Customer Service, Repair, and Manufacturing Departments.
•Work in conjunction with application engineering and R&D department in the selection, installation, modification, and follow-up of compressor related components.
•Provide problem solving and failure analysis where requested with the Service Group customers as well as with OEM's.
•Represent the company through participation in industry conferences, shows, exhibits, seminars and other such functions as assigned by management. Serve as a Hoerbiger Representative on boards and committees
•Work directly with end users' engineering headquarters, engineering departments and R&D operations
•Undertake and complete special projects as assigned by management. Conduct all such projects in a manner consistent with corporate goals, objectives, guidelines and controls.
•Support, supplement, and organize customer technical files, reporting and planning systems, technical and training information.
•Conduct failure analysis, operational Investigations and performance investigations and prepare related reports.
•Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:•Minimum educational requirement of a BS in Mechanic Engineering or equivalent.
•Professional Engineer credentials preferred
•Some industrial experience preferred.
•Familiar with both metallic and non-metallic materials.
•Functional knowledge of personal computers is required
•Knowledge on 2D/3-D design software such as AutoCAD Inventor a definite plus.
•Project management skills will be beneficial.
