JOB SUMMARY. Responsible for managing and administering a multi-plant, multi-state worker's compensation program.
JOB FUNCTIONS. Manage the Worker's Compensation, short and long term disability, maternity and leave of absence program for four plants in three states. Thoroughly investigate all claims, and assist employees in getting the best possible treatment. Coordinate and mange all necessary paperwork including Certification of Health Car Provider (CHP), FMLA leave forms, and long and short-term disability forms. Work with employees regarding their eligibility, leave, determination letters, coverage periods, return to work dates, status of recovery requests, appeal processes, termination of employment, and exhaustion of benefits under these programs. Work with management, doctors, defense attorneys required to solve problems. Act as liaison between employee and the insurance carrier. Report loss time and terminations to worker's compensation carrier. Manager records to comply with HIPPA regulations.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS. BS highly desirable, but not required. Minimum of three years experience in worker' compensation field. Strong verbal and written communications skills. Ability to deal with people in stressful situations. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc). Will consider person with worker's compensation experience, if accompanied by related experience in business or industry.
