The Job

The Technical Documentation Specialist is responsible for researching, writing and developing new and updating existing user documentation that is technically accurate and conforms to the company's documentation standards. The portfolio of user documents that a specialist may develop includes Technical Requirements, System Manuals, Implementation Guides, User Guides, Best Practice Guides, and Online Help Systems.

Essential duties include:

Create documents based on a high-level understanding of technical content and objectives
Gather details based on interviews with internal subject matter experts, source documents, and personal familiarity with Early Warning Services’ products and services
Work with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to incorporate feedback and changes in to final documents
Provide weekly status updates to management
Assist in determining and implementing version/revision control policies and procedures
Assist in establishing style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations
Maintain corporate branding, style, and format across all documents

REQUIREMENTS

BA/BS with English discipline (or relevant combination of education and experience)
3+ years experience in developing technical documentation; writing and editing technical manuals, guides, and/or training aids
Demonstrated ability to efficiently produce clearly written, well-organized documentation and communications
Active security clearance a plus
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate
Knowledge of several software packages, including MS Word, Adobe Acrobat Suite, and FrameMaker
Flexible and oriented toward sharing knowledge with others and learning from peers
Ability to work and achieve with minimal supervision
