Intro:
General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products is a proven solutions integrator of defense products for all branches of the U.S. Department of Defense. We have strong technology positions on key programs that are aligned with homeland defense and DoD's transformation initiatives. Our company is an industry leader in composites technology and production, chem/bio detection, protection systems, and integrated armament products for land, air and sea. Job Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Regulatory Compliance Manager, coordinates the Export/Import Compliance function for countermeasures programs, supporting all aspects of export activities to ensure compliance with U.S. government regulations, i.e., International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and company policies and procedures. Works closely with the company officials, Security, program managers, and attorneys to analyze and address program requirements, identify the appropriate export compliance authorizations required, and provide advice on export activities and issues, including regulatory changes or other developments that may affect U.S. government approvals.
Key responsibilities include preparing, implementing, and modifying export license applications and technical assistance agreements, as well as determining appropriate exemption usage; screening names of potential foreign partners against automated denied party listing; and interacting with Security on security classification issues and Technology Transfer Control Plans. Interfaces with foreign companies and U.S. government employees to complete and process export transactions, tracks the status of required agreements and export control licenses, and assesses any potential impacts of export compliance lead-times on procurement, production, deliveries, and other operations. Provides export control briefings to employees, team members, and management to ensure compliance with export control requirements. Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
Required Work Experience:
Four or more years of defense business or legal experience that includes drafting terms and conditions of complex legal documents such as export licenses and technical assistance agreements. Ability to read and fully comprehend legal documents and U.S. laws and regulations. Current US government security clearance desired. Prior completion of training conducted by Society for International Affairs or comparable organizations desired.
