Business Unit: GE Industrial, Equipment ServicesFunction: OperationsResponsibilities: * Manages and supervises railcar mini shop/inspection site. Responsible for quality, EHS, customer satisfaction, productivity and work instructions.
Makes timely decisions, provides clear direction, completes paper work in a timely manner. Maintains compliant work orders listing all required repairs, and insures those repairs are completed correctly and in a timely manner. Builds a team environment with shop production employees and supports business.
Environment includes continuous exposure to outdoor weather conditions with dust, fumes, and noise
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * Must have good working knowledge of railcar repair techniques, procedures, materials, welding techniques, AAR, DOT and FRA rules and regulations.
Basic computer skills are required including Micorsoft Office.
5+ years railcar repair experience.
3+ years of experience supervising a work force.
Work experience overseeing a team including strong communication skills and the ability motivate and meet deadlines.
High School diploma or GED required.
Must be English literate so as to understand written work orders, and understand company policies and procedures.
18 years of age or older as evidenced by a picture I.D. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must be able to climb, stoop, and bend repeatedly, work in confined spaces, carry hand and power, and pass company physical including pulmonary function.
Willingness to work in Waycross, GA.
Willingness to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited to drug testing, reference verification and background check.Desired: * Ability to weld and obtain AAR tank car certification, Level 2 NDT certified or have the aptitude to achieve it.General: Rail Services is a leading service provider to the global rail industry.
