Site Lead Position

Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, EnergyFunction: ServicesResponsibilities: * This position is responsible for the operations; maintenance and warranty repair of wind turbine generators at the Spring Canyon Wind Project located near Peetz, Colorado.
The successful candidate will help oversee contractual obligations and activities, working closely with project owners and various customers on a daily basis.
This includes any portion of the electrical and mechanical equipment used in the GE 1.5 wind turbine generator.
Subordinate employees classifications include maintenance mechanics, technicians and operators.
This position requires fieldwork.
Troubleshoots complicated mechanical and electrical problems of variable pitch, variable speed control systems and components.
Performs all mechanical and electrical component maintenance, repair or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions.
Performs a variety of administrative duties as well as responsibility for EHS and other relevant compliances. Requires advanced computer skills utilizing word processing, spreadsheet processing, e-mail programs, facility control and management systems and computerized diagnostic and troubleshooting tools.
Comprehensive writing skills are required to meet contractual reporting obligations.
The successful applicant will also participate in an on-call schedule.
Willing to work in extremely adverse weather conditions.
Willing to work overtime on holidays, weekends and on short notice.
Assists with staffing requirements, counseling, coaching, training and corrective action concerning employees and contractors.
Assists with performance evaluations for subordinate employees per management instructions.
Knowledgeable of heavy equipment required for facility maintenance with a working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements.
Helps in all areas of facility operations as directed by manager.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * Requires two year college degree or technical school certificates; or 2+ years of related experience or wind industry training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Requirements:
Valid driver's license.
Acceptable driving record.
Ability to climb steel towers up to 280' on a daily basis.
Competitive score on mechanical and technical aptitude written testing.
Manufacturers warranty reporting and tracking requirements.
Assist with P & L reporting responsibilities.
Spare parts inventory responsibilities.Desired: * Wind facility operations and wind turbine experience.
Experience with balance of plant operations.General: * This hourly position is located near Peetz, Colorado.
No relocation will be provided.
