Senior Category Manager - Gifts & Home (Contract position)

The Senior Category Manager is responsible for all aspects of building marketing plans to achieve profit plan for sales, margin, units and source of sales objectives. Presents campaigns to Marketing group, including sales updates and any financial issues, during weekly Merchandising Meetings and executive reviews. Act as a conduit of information between the Marketing, Creative, Supply Chain and Campaign Management. Also responsible for managing excess inventory.

Responsible for building 26 campaign plans to support overall department sales, margin and inventory.

Building a campaign requires making the decisions on how the products in the department will be merchandised in the brochure for each campaign, ensuring that each page adds up to the projected sales. Analyze campaigns to ensure that each is optimized regarding product flow, marketing
energy/mix, price and promotion using DataMart, IMIS and Excel.

Review and approve creative treatments for Brochure, What’s New and Flyer that are image supportive.

Develop annual and quarterly profit plans with Director and Marketing Managers input.

Manage PLC segment – product flow, mix and margin within department profit Plan.

Lead Merchandising team with coaching and development strategies outlined by Avon.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors degree in merchandising or related field
- Minimum 5 years of merchandising/planning experienc
- Experience building financial sales and margin plans
- Team management skills
- Computer skills – Excel, Word, Lotus Notes
- Avon system skills a plus – i.e., DataMart, IMIS
- Problem solving and creative thinking skills to resolve projects
- Strong analytical skills
- Management/Interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Catalog/brochure experience a plus
