Senior Business Analyst
UBS is a leading global financial services firm. Our Investment Bank is one of the world’s top global investment banking and securities firms, providing a full spectrum of products to institutional and corporate clients, intermediaries, government and hedge funds worldwide.UBS Investment Bank based in Stamford, CT is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to work within our Enterprise IT Operations team the Global Cash Utility initiative. The GCU program is an effort that encompasses the wholesale payment activity of UBS and is being run as a joint effort between Global Wealth Management (GWM) and Investment Bank (IB). This strategic initiative represents a business transformation that will improve global cash, liquidity management, risk and capital adequacy as well as reduce operational cost. GCU will reside upon shared IT systems architecture and will be supported by an integrated global Operations function.We clear & process a daily average of 20,000 payments, totalling USD 200 Billion, 94% of these transactions are processed straight through STP. In comparison, non-USD daily activity settled globally is approximately 150 Billion (75% of USD value).This senior Business Analyst role is part of the project team responsible for replacing the Cash & Liquidity Management functions (ensuring that sufficient liquidity for USD payments exists both intra-day and overnight) of the existing regional applications, AMTRACS, SIGMA and RAPS with the chosen strategic solution. Additionally, this individual to be the US manager of the Nostro Migration team and will support the Zurich based Project Manager.Responsibilities will include: Analyze the existing NA Operations process and compare it to the strategic model Solid expertise in the following categories: Understanding of Development Lifecycle Understanding of Functional Design using UML techniques or other models Designing and documenting the detailed functional and technical specifications Building, configuration and implementation of strategic solution Designing the process changes and, if necessary, the enhancements to the chosen strategic solution to accommodate NA business practices Thereafter, participation in various project lifecycle phases which will include: Build – support development staff in understanding business requirements of enhancements Testing – support IT technical test phases; develop quality UAT scenarios in conjunction with the Business users; support execution of UAT Implementation – document and prepare Business users for go-live e.g. training, procedures updates, SLAs BCM – design and implement Business plans to satisfy FED Out of Region recovery criteria Coordinate with other business resources assigned to the project Strong interaction required with IT, Business users and Global project teams in Stamford and ZurichPreferred Qualifications:Solid expertise in one or more the following categories: Day-to-day operations in a global Payments or Cash Management function in a financial services organization. Involvement with a similar global project involving data migration, testing, documentation and training. Experience identifying, documenting and resolving issues, and communicating status. Provision of design and functional specifications for global Payments or Cash Management projects in a financial services organisation. Strong communication and written documentation skills. People skills: strong teamwork drive and commitment. Economic skills: problem solving & decision making, leveraging resources and managing risk. Independent worker but yet able to be a strong team player. Proactive and self-driven. Some travel may be required to London & Zurich.Desired experience: Project management skills: implementation planning and execution experience. REQUIREMENTS
Basic Qualifications:Four year bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field of study and a minimum of 3 years work experience in a technical Business Analyst capacity.
