Research Director

We're looking for someone analytical and experienced in using research information to advance key business strategies.

The Indianapolis Star has an immediate full-time employment opportunity for a Research Director in our Market Development Department.
We are seeking a qualified candidate who can play a significant role in helping The Star and our affiliated business units utilize research and
marketplace intelligence to help the organization advance key revenue strategies.
REQUIREMENTS
We need someone who:
• has experience coordinating marketing research and data to direct sales planning activity
• has led cross-departmental teams to identify and pursue business growth opportunities
• is a leader in monitoring, analyzing and communicating market intelligence to key decision makers
• has proven experience using quantitative and qualitative research techniques to support sales/marketing programs
• has working knowledge of media buying
• has utilized local economic indicators to identify business opportunities
• has effective marketing skills including targeted segmentation, analysis and planning
• excels at developing effective and persuasive presentations
• has solid management experience and the ability to work productively with people at all levels
• is exceptional at customer follow through and execution

Candidates that have a college degree in business, marketing or advertising, have a minimum of five years marketing and/or advertising experience working directly with research and other forms of market intelligence, and have at least two years of successful management experience are welcome to apply.
