Reporting Analyst II- Human Resources

A senior reporting analyst designs, implements and evaluates reporting mechanisms to bring clarity to Grainger business operations.
Principal Responsibilities
? Works with Team Leader to support business improvement initiatives and/or system development efforts
? Identifies and prioritizes current and future information needs.
? Designs, implements and evaluates system reports and other information solutions that support enterprise wide operations and key metrics.
? Supervises documentation analysts.
? Researches and recommends process improvement opportunities.
? Strives to acquire expert level knowledge of industry available tools for information and reporting design (eg., Cognos, ReportNet, PowerPlay, Metrics Manager and any others that may be deployed).



Attributes and Skills Requirements
- Working knowledge of the Grainger business model or equivalent experience; knowledge of key processes; strong business acumen
- Demonstrated proficiency with BUDS, SAP reports, Microsoft Office Suite, and other reporting tools
- Strong information analysis and problem solving ability
- Significant statistical analysis training and implementation; demonstrated work with business metrics
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to translate information requests into practical outputs
- Displays good business judgment and a willingness to make decisions.
Demonstrates strong attention to detail, and accuracy and thoroughness in work.
- Seeks ways to improve and promote quality.


Impact on the Organization
- This position plays an operationally important role within all business units in the development, deployment and execution of a process-centric culture at Grainger.
- The scope of the work includes identifying, gathering and translating systems information that supports business metrics and operational requirements.
- This position must work collaboratively with other Grainger groups on specified projects.
