Quality Analyst

Field Office Location: TYSONSThe Quality Analyst monitors and reports on the quality of USA TODAY and USA WEEKEND Magazine print site reproduction using established standards and reports. Provides trend analysis and suggestions for problems observed at a single site or between sites. Performs consumable and process testing for USA TODAY/Gannett with analysis of results including expected ramifications. Reviews standards and recommends changes as needed.
Requires four years minimum work experience in the graphic arts or related field in the evaluation of color and printed defects (or equivalent college degree). Must be familiar with newspaper printing process and consumables used in manufacturing. Also requires the following technical skills: understanding of newspaper print-production process; understanding of MS Windows operating system and Office suite (Excel, Word, Access); typing skills required for data entry and email correspondence; competency in use of instrumentation (Densitometers; scales, other measuring equipment). Candidate must not be color blind and must be able to move packages weighing 10 to 20 lbs. Business writing skills a plus.
