Plant Protection Officer

Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, AviationFunction: SecurityResponsibilities: * Implement access control procedures for the plant. These involve personnel and vehicle identification, entry for deliveries of goods, materials and service providers and shipping of products out of the facility.
Administer badging process ensuring compliance with background check procedures and export control requirements.
Provide perimeter security protection. Patrol the property to ensure that it is secure. Identify potential concerns and elevate them to management.
Enforce parking regulations including access to Fire Lanes and Handicap Parking spaces.
Conduct patrols to identify security breaches and ensure that information is protected appropriately.
Provide EMT assistance to employees in need of medical attention as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * HS diploma or GED.
Ability to obtain EMT license within one year of employment.
The position requires that the candidate have or be able to obtain an appropriate Department of Defense security clearance.Desired: * Experience in a military or Department of Defense facility.
Two years of experience providing security protection for an industrial or military site.General: GE Aviation in Lynn is a site of approximately 3800 people responsible for the production and assembly of aircraft engines for both commercial and military customers. Plant Protection Officers at GE in Lynn are responsible for enforcing policies regarding access to the site, protection of the company's assets and assuring the safety and well-being of employees at the site. In addition, as the Lynn site is a Department of Defense contractor, Plant Protection Officers enforce policies regarding the protection of assets and equipment under those procedures.
