Lean Manager

Smiths Aerospace, a leading global provider of innovative solutions to builders and operators of military and civil aircraft and engines, has an immediate opening for a Lean Manager.

The primary responsibility of the Lean Manager is to develop, implement and coordinate the Lean process to assure achievement of business results; facilitate project teams, develop training programs, oversee program implementation at the plant level, track and report results; improve Customer Responsiveness as measured by Company Metrics ~ Increase in OTD; Reduction of Scrap/Rework costs and PPM; achievement of cost-out initiatives; and actively participate in the development and implementation of manufacturing strategy.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum requirements for this position include:
? BS (Business/Mechanical/Electrical/Manufacturing) Degree required or significant relevant work experience.
? 5-8 years manufacturing, engineering, product planning, or quality experience
? Lean Manufacturing expertise & knowledge of tools. Minimum 3 years experience in implementing Lean with demonstrated results.
? Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred
? Strong Communication and problem solving skills
? Ability to lead and train teams
? Ability to act as a catalyst for change
? Coaching Skills with strong interpersonal skills
? Proven project leadership skills
? Problem solving ability
? Ability to be proactive and urgency in solving business issues
? Excellent computer skills

? Make vs buy analysis experience
? Low cost economies experience
