Job Costing Controller
Position Responsibilities:
-Manage the job costing function for the Midwest District’s 17 branches. Provide job cost management information (financial and non-financial) to the district office and branches.
-Monitor and analyze percent complete jobs and identify potential problems with job revenues, cost estimates and margins
-Prepare job cost reports
-Improve cost control procedures
-Continually develop and review new job cost reports and procedures to ensure the District and Branch personnel have a good understanding of their jobs.
-Provide job cost training to new branch personnel and travel to branches to review jobs with branch managers and administrators.
-Ensure that all District and Branch job cost functions are Sarbanes Oxley compliant
Centrally manage a job cost function where the job cost data is entered at the local branches.
-Provide a variety of financial reports and analyses for District, Regional and Corporate presentations.
-Assist the District Controller with special projects and analyses.
REQUIREMENTS
We think you must have the following to be successful in this position:
• 6 to 10 years of experience in Corporate Accounting within a manufacturing environment with increasing level of responsibility, with at least 2 years tenure as a Controller, Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager
• A minimum of 2 year supervisory experience
• A Bachelor’s degree in business related discipline with an Accounting major
• CPA and/or MBA preferred

• possess solid knowledge of and be able to adhere to GAAP

• understand all aspects of cost accounting
• demonstrate superior computers skills, especially with MS Excel
• possess strong interpersonal and written communication skills
