JOB COACH Cafe 54 @ Tucson Botanical Gardens
Café 54 is expanding its food service to the Gardens Café located in the Tucson Botanical Gardens.
Looking for an individual who would assist in the supportive training and coaching individuals recovering from mental illness in work skills, appropriate work habits and workplace behaviors. Community employment ultimately a final outcome for program trainees.This position is a 40-work week, variable schedule, including weekends and shifts (8:00 am-4:00 pm and 10:00 am-6:00 pm).
Minimum AA + 2 years Behavioral Health experience
Knowledge of Vocational Rehabilitation is preferredCAFE 54:
A groundbreaking restaurant training program. Support trainees in all aspects of running a restaurant.Café 54 is more than an elegant restaurant located in Tucson’s downtown Arts district. Café 54 is also a unique employment-training program for adults recovering from mental illnesses. Due to the often-disabling nature of mental illness, many individuals have limited work experience. Café 54 provides on-the-job training in a variety of restaurant positions such as: line cooks, pastry chefs, prep cooks servers, cashiers, and dishwashers. The Café also provides opportunities for trainees who wish to become effective job coaches by providing support in learning these skills at Café 54.Café 54 employs a strategically limited number of trained professional staff to run the restaurant. Therefore, the success of the restaurant rests on the burden of work being done by the trainees.

Innovative consumer driven pre-voc program (internationally recognized Clubhouse program) that offers support with education, employment and recovery through work.Focus on member skills and abilities and overcoming barriers to employment and recovery. Unique environment focusing on building relationships with members/trainees and team cohesiveness.Our Place Clubhouse was established to provide psychosocial, pre-vocational and vocational rehabilitation services to adults recovering from mental illness. The Clubhouse is open to individuals enrolled in the state behavioral health system, whatever their degree of disability. Access to Clubhouse services exists as long as the member wants and needs them; once a member, always a member.Utilizing the highly successful Fountain House model, mental health consumers, called members, volunteer in the Clubhouse. Members pace themselves to meet their own rehabilitation goals by choosing from a variety of work activities of varying complexity. Working alongside staff in running the day-to-day operations of the clubhouse, members achieve a sense of accomplishment and contribute to the community. Because the work as equal partners with staff, members gain a sense of purpose and accept and commit themselves to long-term, significant responsibilities.Our Place Clubhouse employs a strategically limited number of trained professional staff to run the clubhouse.
