GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: The individual in this position will conduct construction estimates as required by the Estimating function of the Construction Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Collect pricing data, maintain spreadsheets and update data as necessary
- Work with senior management staff on labor and plan pricing
- Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs on categories as assigned by senior staff
- Document estimates using methods developed for the department
- Maintain all applicable databases used in developing estimates
- Complete necessary customer option estimates
- Assist in verifying all completed estimates through field verifications and the prototype process, focusing on quantities
- Perform additional job functions deemed relevant and assigned by the Estimator's direct supervisor.
- Other duties may be assigned

ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
To achieve these deliverables the Estimator must be proficient at displaying the following behaviors:
- A comprehensive knowledge of basic construction related math
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skill are a must
- Proficient in time management and organizational skills.
- Proficient in computer applications, preferably Microsoft Excel (for budget controls), Microsoft Word (for word processing)
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- A high school degree with at a miniumn of 2 years related experience is required; however, a four-year degree in Business, Engineering or Construction Management is preferred
- Minimum of 2 year related work experience preferred.
