DIRECTOR, GLOBAL LEARNING & TRAINING
BASIC FUNCTION:Service Business Leader with international experience, to manage Global Center of Excellence for development and marketing of Product Learning and Training business and well as internal product and solutions knowledge propagation.Directs the staff and activities involved in planning, developing and delivering high quality training programs for customers and company employees. Responsible for helping Global Regional organizations achieve budgeted financial objectives.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Ensures the global development of effective strategies for marketing Learning Services. Collaborates with a variety of functional areas (e.g., Customer Services, Sales, Customer Engineering) to develop training programs which are responsive to market opportunities.2.Approaches Learning Services in a holistic manner to ensure skills, development and curriculum design match Invensys Process Systems (IPS) strategic directions and business needs.3.Evaluates and approves effectiveness of training programs, ensuring that training activities are effectively teaching the characteristics and applications of IPS products and services. Utilizes new technologies to deliver training globally to customers and Invensys employees.4.Evaluates and approves training methodology, techniques and facilities, maintaining awareness of developments in the field of education with the objective of integrating innovation and cost effectiveness in needs analysis, course development, delivery and evaluation.5.In conjunction with VP of Global Product Support, Regional Service Directors and Learning Services staff, formulates long range plans, quality standards, goals and interdepartmental policies and procedures. Determines human resources requirements of business unit.6.Manages the establishment and execution of revenue/budget plans. Drives operations to 100% utilization rate, takes corrective action, if necessary to ensure the development and execution of a feasible recovery strategy.7.May present the overall Learning Services capabilities to customers' upper management through formal presentations.8.Manages subordinates, including the scheduling and assignment of work, evaluation of results, planning for professional growth and submittal of recommendations for salary increases, promotion, transfers and hiring or discharging.Education:
B.S. in Engineering, Masters Degree PreferredExperience:
12+ years in high technology management environment, preferably in the training/education role.
