Contract Coordinator - Extended Search
The Office of Business and Financial Services, Purchasing Division, for the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking one Contract Coordinator, preferably with a strong background in healthcare, to implement the policies and procedures by which purchases are made and contracts are approved for the Board of Trustees. Established standards of good business practice, sound fiscal management and protection of the University are used as the criterion for approval of contractual arrangements by the University. This position will also prepare, analyze and administer leases, agreements, and contracts for the University of Illinois.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree and at least two years experience in the administration of contracting at an institution of higher education or other public or governmental agency, or at a healthcare institution. Knowledge of and/or experience with contracting within a University hospital/medical center or other complex healthcare environment is highly desirable. Other knowledge needed includes: knowledge of State laws and University procedures related to contracting and procurement; knowledge of contract law and negotiation methods; ability to interpret, research, and apply regulatory material pertaining to contracts: ability to analyze, solve problems, evaluate proposals, and render advice and assistance; ability to negotiate; ability to present oral and written comments, recommendations, and information clearly and concisely; ability to establish objectives, implement procedures, and develop methods to measure effectiveness of results obtained; ability to prepare complex requests for proposal, contracts, agreements and management reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with University Counsel, Risk Manager, University Departments/Units, contractors and the public; and the ability to use personal computer software applications.
