Business Systems Analyst-CS

The Business Systems Analyst ensures an effective and efficient operating environment. They are responsible to solve the complex issues that arise with system operations, related to projects, enhancements, or support activities. The Analyst is responsible for performing analysis of processes and systems, identifying opportunities to improve both, and working with appropriate resources to implement those changes. In addition, the Business Systems Analyst will assist in emergency situations to define processes, communicate with the business, and engage corrective action or clean up activities

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for understanding the impact of changes to their business partners and the risks involved to the organization. This understanding is required to ensure the appropriate actions are taken to result in efficient and effective operation of the environment and business. The performance of this position will directly impact how the department coordinates technology and change throughout the organization. Working with various business partners to understand there processes, the Business Systems Analyst will influence current/future development efforts to meet business goals.

- Researches, resolves, and responds to highly complex system/process within our SAP suite of modules concentrating on the SD and CRM modules. .

- Quickly understand the business issues, data challenges and improvement opportunities of Grainger's processes or systems.

- Promotes solution–oriented thinking to foster process-centric environment at Grainger.

- Participates and/or coordinates required testing/validation of system and process changes.

- Uses problem solving skills to understand business issues and offer potential solutions.

- Possess the ability to effectively communicate with business and technical partners

- Insures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner; escalates and retains ownership of all open/unresolved issues.

- Participates in system emergency or crisis situations to define/implement workaround processes, corrective action, communication, and system clean up activities.

- Applies project standards with all areas to ensure a smooth efficient process, and communicates status and issues to management on a timely basis.
REQUIREMENTS


- Bachelor degree is preferred.

- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate to various levels of management to clarify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.

- Continually seeks opportunities to increase process/system efficiencies, customer satisfaction and overall business improvement.

- Strong system knowledge of SAP within the SD and CRM modules.

- Ability to work on cross-functional teams.

- Ability to adapt to changing business processes, technologies, and environments.

- Excellent organizational skills.

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

- Strong interpersonal skills.

- Must be proactive and able to work with little or no supervision.
