Business Systems Analyst

Purpose: Our client, a small company in the investments industry, is currently in need of a Business Systems Analyst. This is a 6 month contract-to-hire opportunity located in the West End of Richmond, Virginia.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Analyzes current business systems using observation, user interviews, and industry research. Creates and maintains documentation for users and programmers that accurately describes and depicts current and proposed systems. Leads the design of improved, computer-based systems, ensuring that the design is optimal for the end-users. Aligns system design with corporate strategies and best practices. Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions and steps required to develop or modify computer programs. Designs and leads user acceptance testing. Functions as primary liaison for application systems requirements between the Research department and the Information Technology department.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor's degree in related area.
- 2-5 years direct experience in business systems analysis.
- Experience in leading systems design and/or user acceptance testing.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Formal training in mainstream system development life cycle methodologies.

PREFERRED:

- Investments, financial and/or mathematical application systems.
