General Definition
This position is responsible and accountable for the effective operation of the college’s ancillary business areas i.e. all areas not directly pertaining with the delivery of educational services such as the bookstore operation, ancillary service vendor relations and negotiation, optimization of dormitory rentals fees, as well as other selected ancillary areas. Additionally, this position is the facilitator of on-going process improvement for these areas as well as the college as a whole

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following is intended to be a presentation of some of the major areas of responsibility for the incumbents in this position. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list.

•Responsible for profit and loss outcomes of ancillary revenue lines for the college including the bookstore, food service, dormitory rental, dental cleanings, as well as others as assigned.
•Facilitates cross-functional business process improvement teams and initiatives to ensure that the College’s identified areas of improvement are effectively addressed.
•Provides leadership and direction to the employees working in the College’s ancillary areas.
•Actively participates in the budget creation process for ancillary and is accountable for effectively operating all ancillary businesses consistent to the budget.
•Negotiates and otherwise maintains vendor relationships that optimize the interests of the College while upholding the ethics and reputation of the College.
•Tracks and documents all significant business metrics so that the status and progress of all ancillary businesses can be obtained at all times by the College’s leadership.
•Participates in the selection and development of new employees in the ancillary areas including establishing and monitoring all employees goals and objectives to ensure all areas are being continuously improved and in keeping with the overall vision of the College.

SUPORVISORY RESPONSIBLITY
•Leads and supervises all employees in the ancillary business areas.
•Directly responsible for the performance evaluation and goal setting process all employees in these areas. This includes the creation of performance standards/personal goals and executing or ensuring the operation of all performance evaluations in a timely manner.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors Degree or equivalent from with a minimum of 5 years related business/operations experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

•Strong interpersonal skills
•Strong knowledge of the operations/management in a non-for profit organization.
•Ability to successfully interact with all levels of the organization
•Ability to negotiate with vendor in an effective and ethical manner.
