Business Analyst, Governance and Best Practices

Responsible for analysis, procedure definition and implementation, documentation as well as functional and technical support of the Governance and Best Practices department, including Changepoint (CP), IT Security and IT Governance. The Business Analyst will be required to work with cross-departmental IT staff, end-users and various PRC management teams to complete their assigned projects. The Business Analyst will have full accountability of multiple projects from initial requirements through post-production support, which may include off-shift support.

Job Responsibilities

•Identifies, recommends and coordinates Changepoint usage, Changepoint maintenance (upgrades and patches) as well as CP reporting needs.
•Defines, documents and implements Changepoint policies, standards, and procedures.
•Analyzes and documents PRC’s CP reporting needs as it pertains to IT Governance.
•Recommends efficiencies for Changepoint usage by evaluating the various components of Changepoint and assessing PRC’s current business needs.
•Ensures that all proper Changepoint training material is up-to-date and available for end-users. Works closely with the IT training department to ensure CP classes are offered when needed.
•Monitors Changepoint release schedules for patches and upgrades. Prepares and coordinates the deployment of the latest Changepoint upgrades into all environments as well as the most recent Changepoint patches.
•Provides tier 2 Changepoint support when issues/problems are escalated by the tier 1 support team.
•Acts as the technical liaison between Compuware (Changepoint vendor) and PRC.
•Defines, documents and implements security policies, procedures, guidelines and standards to maintain security.
•Interfaces with the user community to understand their privacy and security needs and implements procedures and technologies to accommodate these requirements.
•Formulates, defines and implements procedures to ensure safety of information system assets and protection from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction.
•Defines and implements security controls to continue to meet company security objectives.
•Participates in periodic security audits and evaluate results.
•Performs and follows up on security vulnerability scans.
•Participates in the review of firewall rules and router ACL’s.
•Coordinates semi-annual user recertification activities.
•Coordinates the identification and classification of information across PRC.
•Stays abreast of security best practices.
•Documents IT policies, procedures, standards and services obtained by interviewing various IT personnel.
•Identifies, documents, implements and communicates IT best practices throughout the organization.
•Analyzes, defines, documents and coordinates the development of reports for measurement of IT performance.
•Analyzes, defines, documents and implements IT Governance policies, procedures, guidelines and standards to establish a solid PRC IT Governance program.
•Creates appropriate project plans and manages to them accordingly by working closely with the user community and IT support groups leading Changepoint, IT Security and IT Governance initiatives.
•Performs special assignments in support of all departmental objectives.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
•Minimum 5 years of analysis and project management work experience in an IT or business environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Working knowledge of networking, NT, UNIX and Windows operating systems.
•Working knowledge of automated security tools such as Nessus or ISS.
•Knowledge of the software development life cycle.
•Must have strong technical writing skills.
•Proficient in MS Office products including MS Project.
•Possess solid project management skills, including the ability to multi-task and manage work teams.
•Must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
•Must possess strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
•Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively
